Hi,
I don't know what ideas you all are knocking around, so I thought I just say what I'm thinking and you can do what you like with it.
Jayne--I'd love to see some back story on Jayne. I find it particularly interesting that he is so well trained militarily speaking, but never fought in the war (Train Job). Did he go through training, but end up in the brig for the duration? Dishonorable discharge? Trained but the war ended before he actually got to fight?
Also, his mother, childhood, and home planet are of interest as well.
And I'd like to see why Jayne, who seems to have some loyalty to his mother but no one else, has formed the attachments to the crew that he has. He seems to really respect Mal.
Again, just idea buds.

I generally think that Jayne was either part of a local Miltlia during the war just protecting his home from both sides, or was part of a mercenary unit earlier on in his life. _________________

For those of you wanting a Jayne-centric ep, you're in luck because we've got one planned for a bit later on this season. I can't tell you guys much about the ep, except that it's coming and that it touches on Jayne's home life and his life on Serenity. _________________

Pretty much. Things can change if someone gets a really brilliant idea half way through the season, but the producing team has a whole list with each episode named and a short summary of what happens. Professional is our middle name |

Yeah, we've got the entire season mapped out. Of course, it helped that we already had a partial roadmap of where things needed to go (courtesy of the movie). _________________

I'll be really interested to see how you get the story of the movie into a whole season. Personally can't see how you could strech out the last part of movie (from Books death onwards). It's just so great. _________________

I think you'll be surprised by what we've got planned. Keep in mind, though, that there's going to be deviations from how things play out in the film, simply because we have more time to tell the same story. _________________

Yep, as David (willowfan) points out, our objective is to re-tell the tale of the movie as Whedon MIGHT have done it if it were Season Two (and 22 episodes!) rather than just a two hour movie. Consequently, you'll see a lot of things fleshed out (for example, you've already seen us start to built Mal's working relationship with Mingo and Fanty), and you'll also see a whole heckuva lotta other stuff. Basically, we'll be hitting the same stops you remember from the movie, but the road might be a little different, and will definitely be a damned sight longer.
As for the season, as has been previously pointed out, we essentially have the entire season plotted out in terms of pacing, character development, major story arcs, etc. Knowing where we want to be at episode 12 or 22 lets us know how and when we need to foreshadow, what we need to establish, etc.
For the record, the crew is already talking a fair amount about Season Three, so we hope y'all will ride along with us for a long time! |

Can I make a request for a Wash centric episode.
Assuming that he is going to die at the end of the season I would really like to see his back story. _________________

In Season 2 - before the big ***SPOILER*** there will be some focus on Wash to be sure.
I can't make any promises ('cause, well, I ain't the boss) but I am pretty confident there will be a Wash-centric episode in Season 3 if I have anything to say about it. I like me some flashbacks |

Hi everyone!
I don't know whether this is the right thread to do it - just wanted to tell you how much I love your continuation of Firefly. If someone decides to revive the TV series, they should seriously consider filming at least some of your scripts!
Thank you for many hours of Firefly-ish fun and keep up the good work!

Greetings kernel32,
Welcome to the Forum. Yes when (it's not a case of if) the series/story is revived I hope that one of the scripts from here will get filmed. _________________

Regarding season 3- if there is one will it be original storylines or more fleshing out of the Serenity events? _________________ I think it was John Lennon who said," life is what happens when your making other plans ," and I think that's true. Although he also said,"I am the eggman, I am the walrus," so I don't know what to believe. |
